What is the difference between 780i, 1080i, and 1080p?
I have a 42″ Samsung DLP 1080i tv and it is spectacular. I want to get a cheap flat panel for my bedroom (<42") but want at least the same quality i have with my Samsung. I see vizio has a 36" for around $500, which is in my price range.... What would be my best bet for a small flat panel with good quality?
great answeres but nobody answered the second part of your question. if you want at least the same qaulity as samsung. then get a samsung. vizio s are cheap really cheap. you will not get any where near the quality of the samsung. samsung is a great lcd tv. if you are happy with your samsung then get another samsung and you will still be happy. if you get a cheaper brand you will definitely notice the picture quality differences between the two. you will not get a samsung for $500 unless its like a 26″ and thats kinda small for a bedroom tv (for me anyways), id get a 32″. if not a samsung get a panasonic or sony toshiba or sharp.but you will not be spending any less money( well maybe with the toshiba). so to get the same quality of tv and the same picture quality get a samsung. at lest you know you wont regret it. good luck
