What is the best connection for a DVD/HDTV?
I have a standard DVD player and a Phillips LCD Television. What is the best connection to have for picture/sound quality? Coaxial, S-Video, Component?
Component is the best option you have available for video.
If you have connectors on both ends for a single coaxial or optical cable for digital sound… That would be better than using the analog left and right connectors for sound. Not sure if many TVs have digital sound inputs though… Mostly home theater receivers…
There are DVD players with the better HDMI or DVI connectors your TV probably has and that have state of the art upconversion that can sometimes make DVD look better on HDTV.
