can magnets damage lcd tvs?
i know magnets hurt the old tube televisions. i’m curious if they can damage lcd or plasma tvs.
No, they can’t damage the newer flatscreen LCD & Plasma TV’s. The technology is completely different. In the CRT type tv’s beams of electrons are shot at the screen and magnets can alter the path of the electrons so they end up in the wrong place causing the CRT to behave differently than it was designed to. In the newer TV’s there are no electrons being beamed into a tube, it’s all directly to the panel so there’s no path a magnet could interfere with.
