Is there any safety device such as wire/cable to use on wall mount tvs if wall mount fails?
Just a lil worried to hang my lcd up on a wall.. is there a back up device if my wall mount is defective or installed incorrectly? I was thinking of a safety cable and mount that into a stud from the tv into the wall as well……
A Safety cable is not necessary…
Properly installed into Studs, a wall mount’s screws can easily handle the load placed on it…
It’s when you DON’T screw into studs that you NEED to use the PROPER DRYWALL ANCHORS. (available at any hardware store)
Just make sure you know the weight of your TV set and get the proper wall-mount kit for your weight range, and then get the proper drywall anchors.
