Panasonic 50″ plasma 768p vs 1080p?
I have bought the 768p version (TH50PX75U) for $1800 with shipping and installation from a local store. (http://electronics.pricegrabber.com/plasma-lcd-televisions/m/35027357/search=TH-50PX75U)
Is the 1080p version (TH-50PZ77U) significantly better for a similar price if bought online ( http://electronics.pricegrabber.com/plasma-lcd-televisions/m/49589267/zip_code=60659 ).
Since this TV should last about 12 to 15 years would buying the 1080p version be better even if I only watch off-the-air TV which may eventually start using 1080p?
Can you tell the difference between the 2 resolutions since the screen is over 46″?
Has anyone bought a TV from an online retailer and felt that it was worth the price savings? Perhaps, this information could be used for bargaining power with a local merchant.
How much more is the 1080p version worth?
If your sitting beyond about 75″ with a fifty inch set you will not tell a clairity difference between the two sets. Other then the resoulution difference between the two the only difference is the 77u has an anti-glare screen. Honestly since i have been selling these sets the 75u has a better picture then the pz77u because overall it has a more natural looking color. Its also a brighter set. My advice is to stick with the 75u.
