Pioneer Plasma Tvs

Pioneer Plasma Tvs
Which Plasma HDTV should I get?

I’m looking forward to getting a new Plasma HDTV for Christmas!
I have about $3000 to invest and a 42″ Full HD TV would be the perfect match.

I’m going to watch DVDs and Blurays on it, and hook up my PS3!

Do you have any recommendations?

I’ve already looked into some Pioneer Kuro models, but they don’t seem to have Full HD for the 42″ TVs!

This is something you’ll have to research closely. If you are getting a plasma TV, I recommend the Panasonic Viera TH-42PV700. This TV is 42 inches, quite affordable and nice to show off to your friends with. I own the 50 inch version of this model. So the only difference between mine and the 42 inch version is only size.

The pros of this TV are:

3 HDMI ports.

2 in the back for your blu-ray player, and one in the front for your PS3

Full HD 1080p TV.

The TV supports Full HD 1080p, This will mean you can watch your Blu-rays, PS3 games at the highest resolution they offer, which is 1080p

Picture quality.

The TV’s picture quality is phenomenal. Viewed against other brands such as Haier, Bravia, Regza, etc, the Viera was the best at producing traditionally “difficult” pictures for flat panel TVs such as red wine, the moon, sports, and tropical fish. The Viera has also excellent black level. 10,000:1 contrast ratio. LCD TVs, when they tell you that they have this contrast ratio, this is dynamic contrast which means it can only achieve it’s darkest black in dark scenes and it’s brightest white in bright scenes. It’s brightest and darkest cannot be displayed at the same time. This is static contrast ratio, which will be at max some 4000:1. Plasmas can display it’s brightest and darkest at the same time because of how the two different technologies work.

Eco-friendliness

The glass used in the TV is 100% lead-free. Traditionally, the type of glass used in TVs, optical glass, uses large amounts of lead oxide in the mix. a 21-inch CRT TV has 4 pounds of lead in it. Panasonic have developed an optical glass which substitutes another chemical for lead oxide. So when your TV comes to it’s life’s end, your TV isn’t hazardous to the environment.

Sound system

You probably won’t need a home theatre with this TV. The bass response is excellent and it feels like a movie theatre with the TV’s 2 speakers alone. you should hear the THX sound on this thing. But this excellent sound can only be acheived through a HDMI connedction or a home theatre.
As a bonus this TV supports virtual surround sound via SRS Trusurround XT. THis means it can simulate 5.1 channel audio with it’s 2 speakers. the VSS system works on sound delay and frequencies so it doesn’t need calibration or a “sweet spot” as par normal refective VSS systems.

1080p interpolation (signal up-scaling)

This is my fav feature. All panasonic viera PLasma TVs can upscale standard 480i/p, 576i/p, 720i/p and 1080i signals to 1080p resolution this means you’ll watch everything, even VHS tapes at 1080p resolution. of course the colour and sharpness of the picture will have limited improvement so even if your pictures won’t look heavily pixallated, like all interpolation systems the picture will look better if it was natively 1080p instead of boosted to 1080p. But at least your picture will be a lot clearer than if your TV did not do this. At sizes 42 inches and above, the picture starts to look pixallated and this feature keeps this from happening.

SDHC card reader

The TV features an SDHC card reader. This card reader can read both SD and the higher capacity SDHC cards. THis means that you can take your SD of SDHC card from your camera and display it in your giant TV for all to see

Quality:price ratio

The TV is of exceptional quality and as far as i know is hell cheaper than TVs of similar qualitiy or features which makes it a spankin’ bargin.

So, to sum it up, get the Panasonic Viera TH-42PV700 for the above reasons
