I am looking to purchase a new television and should it be LCD or Plasma?
I am looking to buy a new television and I have mixed reviews on buying a plasma TV or LCD. I am comparing the sony Bravia 42″ LCD and the Panasonic Plasma 42″G10 range. I have heard about burn outs with plasma and this is my main concern as plasma seems to have a better picture. Which is the best option or is there a better option?
I think you mean ‘burn-in’…not burn-outs! And don’t worry about either! Newer Plasma TVs have all but done away with burn-in problems thanks to newer gases, pixel orbiting technology and screen savers!
Plasma TVs have the highest “native” contrast ratios(40,000:1), giving them the blackest blacks and most vivid and rich looking colors! They also have the fastest response times(.001ms) and fastest refresh rates(600hz). Making them the best at producing the sharpest and smoothest motion. If i was you, i would get the Panasonic Plasma(TC-P42G10). That’s one of the best Plasma TVs available right now! Panasonic’s also have the lowest failure rate of any brand of HDTV. Sony’s are becoming more and more unreliable!
