Are LCD televisions only good with “superior” input, like HDTV and Blue Ray?
My husband and I, while shopping for LCD televisions, were told by the salesperson that the reason for the very evident pixelated quality of the picture was that an LCD set needed either HDTV or BlueRay. Regular digital signal or DVDs would show up with those little tiny squares during movement scenes or on the edges of things. (I say pixelated because I don’t know the term for such a thing.)
Was he right? Or was he just trying to sell BlueRay DVDs?

Salesman doesn’t know what he’s talking about, or perhaps due to the confusing terminology, you got it wrong.
Size impacts picture quality. We have a 26′ HDTV LCD and a 50″ HDTV Plasma. On both we only had the digital cable (not HD) signal input. The picture were still phenomenal!
I highly recommend reading Consumer’s Report to ensure you understand the technology/terminology. To at least defend yourself from a wayward salesman…or ensure you are educated as to the technology.
